Our Indian Army completes 3 foot over bridges in Mumbai in 117 days! Not one. Not two but three!! Kudos! 3 foot-over-bridges - Elphinstone Road-Parel, Currey Road and Ambivli station - were opened for commuters in Mumbai on February 27, 2018. Indian Army was given responsibility to construct the FOBs following the death of 23 commuters in a stampede at Elphinstone Road station on September 29, 2017.
Elphinstone Road-Parel bridge is 73.1 metre long and is built at a cost of Rs 10.44 crore. Currey Road and Ambivli bridges are 30 meters and 20 metre long, respectively. All these bridges are 3.5 metre wide.
