Mahesh Savani belongs to Raparda Village of Bhavanagar, Gujarat. This prosperous businessman has business interests in diamonds, realty and education. Yet, what sets him apart from the thousands of successful businessmen in the country is the fact that Savani is father to 708 daughters! Around 10years ago, Savani’s brother passed away. When his nieces were getting married, it was Savani who stepped up to play the role of their father and perform their ‘kanyadaan.’ The incident made him think about the countless girls who had lost their fathers and did not have a father figure to look up to. His relationship with his adopted daughters doesn’t end with the wedding either: “Mahesh papa is just a message away when we need him,” says Hina Kathiriya, one of Savani’s adopted daughters.
